Rooted in Family. Rebuilt with Purpose.

Frontier Cottages is a family-owned lakeside retreat built on togetherness, tradition, and simple Midwestern hospitality. For generations, our family has welcomed guests to Indian Lake with one goal in mind: to create a place where memories come easy and time slows down.

Whether it’s morning coffee in cozy family room, kids running barefoot on the beach, or evenings spent watching the sun settle over the lake, Frontier Cottages has always been about more than a place to stay, it’s about how it feels to be here and coming back to something familiar.

On March 14, a tornado tore through Lakeview and completely destroyed Frontier Cottages.
Our two-story main house and our four cottages behind it — places filled with holidays, reunions, laughter, and tons of memories — were gone in minutes. What remained was our family, our community, and a choice: rebuild with intention, or walk away from something that meant too much to lose.

We chose to rebuild!
Then Now
Frontier Cottages has always stood on the same ground, but today it stands with renewed purpose.
BEFORE

The original cottages were built for togetherness. The new Frontier Cottages were built with that same spirit — thoughtfully designed for comfort, longevity, and the kind of stays guests return for year after year.
AFTER

This rebuild wasn’t about replacing what was lost. It was about honoring it while building something that could carry the tradition forward.
A Logo That Tells A Story

Our logo isn’t new — it’s remembered.

When the original Frontier Cottages sign was lost, we chose to recreate it exactly as it was. Same shape. Same style. Same identity. A reminder that while everything else changed, who we are did not.
It stands today as a symbol of where we started, what we endured, and why Frontier Cottages continues.
